
Before using this product, read this user manual carefully.
- Keep the steering wheel in a dry area and do not expose it to dust or sunlight.
- Do not spill liquid on the steering wheel and connectors.
- Never open the steering wheel. Any repairs must be carried out by esportsim assistance.
- Use only the power supply included with the steering wheel.
- Make sure that the power supply is correctly plugged in the electrical socket and that theconnector between the power supply and the steering wheel is well plugged in.
- Use only accessories compatible and suggested by esportsim.
- If the product does not work properly, for example because it emits strange smells,sounds or has a high temperature, do not use it, unplug it and contact esportsimassistance.
- If you plan not to use the steering wheel for a long period of time, disconnect it from thepower supply.
- While using the steering wheel, always keep your hands in the correct position withoutever letting go of it completely.
- Always make sure that the steering wheel is securely attached to the engine base.
PREFACE
FSW Series 2 is a professional racing wheel for sim racing, compatible with PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox One on Fanatec, Thrustmaster, Simucube and any other motor bases with 6x70mm holes pattern.
The steering wheel replicates many features that you find today on the real steering wheels of Formula cars, for this reason we suggest you to read this manual carefully, only in this way will you be able to make the most of the steering wheel.
The steering wheel can receive the telemetry data through the WiFi network or through USB via Simhub software.
The steering wheel is able to get updates via the Internet. The updates will be released to fix, improve or add functionality to your steering wheel.
Keep your steering wheel Software and Firmware always up to date.
The steering wheel in the version for gaming console is compatible with the following engine bases:
Thrustmaster motor bases:
Fanatec motor bases:
The sim racing wheel on console can receive the telemetry data via WiFi connection from F1 games like F1 2021, F1 2022 and the future version of F1 games.
STEERING WHEEL HARDWARE
The formula steering wheel comes with:
- 12 professional buttons
- 8 absolute professional encoders (SLX)
- 2 gearbox paddles

(if you have the advanced podium paddle you can use also button 15 and button 16)
Each encoder has 12 absolute positions.
Refer to these label-codes when commands are associated with your game and it is important to check these labels to identify each encoder to receive a proper assistance.
POWER ON-OFF
To turn on the steering wheel connect the round connector at the end of spiral cable to the round connector you can find on the power supply.
Wait until you can see the first dashboard on the steering wheel’s screen.

To turn off the steering wheel simply disconnect the round connector at the end of the spiral cable.
WiFi SETTINGS
The first thing to do is to connect the steering wheel to your WiFi network. To do that you have to go to the Diagnostic dashboard. To change the wheel’s dashboard put the central rotary switch SL1 in CD (Change Dashboard) position and press 2 times the button number 10.
Now turn clockwise the central multifunctional encoder called SL1 to scroll down until you see the “CLOSE APP” button and press it.

STARTER
When you have closed the telemetry application you will see another application called “STARTER”.
With the STARTER application you can connect the wheel to your wifi access point.

Now open the menu, as you can see in the following image, and open the screen Keyboard.

After that, click on the wifi icon to open the Wifi panel. Choose your wifi network and write your wifi password.
After the wifi icon indicate that the steering wheel is connected press the button “TELEMETRY APP” to come back to the telemetry application.

CENTRAL ENCODER (SL1)
The central encoder, called SL1, is a multifunction encoder
Understanding its functions is essential to use the steering wheel in the best way.
According to its position with the buttons 10 e 11 you can manage a specific setting of the steering wheel or the car.

DASHBOARD LOGIC
In the steering wheel it is possible to navigate between the telemetry dashboards and the management dashboards.
Telemetry dashboards can be composed of one or more views.
The telemetry dashboards, and therefore the Views inside them, are those that receive telemetry and that are used when using the steering wheel on the track.
The management dashboards are dashboards that allow you to manage parameters and configure various features of the steering wheel.
The following image shows you what the movements you can make between the various dashboards and views can be.
The views inside the same dashboard generally have the same style.
Furthermore, the views of the same dashboard share the same behavior such as for the LEDs, encoders and special buttons.

TD = Telemetry dashboard
MD = Management dashboard
This dashboard system was designed to be easily expandable with other views or dashboards.
To move vertically you must first set SL1 to position CD and then use the buttons button 10 and button 11 to go up or down.
To be able to move horizontally, however, you must set SL1 to position CV and then use button button 11 and button 10 to go right or left.
Moving vertically you will change dashboards, moving horizontally instead you will change View inside the same dashboard
TELEMETRY DASHBOARDS
There are several standard telemetry dashboards in the steering wheel.
The first one is a custom dashboard designer by Esportsim with the web tool called “Dashboard Designer”. You can delete this dashboard easily. Set the SL1 to position 4 and press and hold button 10 up to the red right led will be on.

MANAGEMENT DASHBOARDS
The steering wheel management dashboards are the dashboards with which you can manage parameters and monitor various aspects of the steering wheel.
To go to the management dashboards, place the central encoder in position CD and press the button 10.
Each time the button 10 is pressed you change the management dashboard. To return to the telemetry dashboards you have to go up by pressing the button 11s.
SETTINGS DASHBOARDS
The first management dashboard is the Settings Dashboard. Through the settings dashboard you can manage the brightness of the LED, you choose the platform if PC or console, you choose the type of communication if through Fanatec base – Thrustmaster base or USB and many other steering wheel’s parameters.
After changing a parameter click on Save to make the changes permanent.
Reboot the application or the steering wheel if you change the platform or the base.

DIAGNOSTIC DASHBOARDS
Another management dashboard is the Diagnostic dashboard. With this dashboard it is possible to test the hardware present in the steering wheel. It will therefore be possible to test the encoders, the buttons and all the LEDs. Within this dashboard you can also close the telemetry application, see all the ID Data and also check if a software update is available for you steering wheel.

SOFTWARE UPDATE
The steering wheel software can be updated via an Internet connection.
The updates can regards bug fixed, performance improvements or customizations.
In the Diagnostic dashboard you will find a button “UPDATE” with which you can check if there is a software update available for your steering wheel

REMOTE CONNECTION
In the Diagnostic Dashboard you will find also a button called “REMOTE CONNECTION” with which you can enable the remote connection of your steering wheel with the Esportsim server. This connection is used to diagnostic the wheel or to upload a custom software.

IDENTIFICATION DATA
In the Diagnostic Dashboard you can also find also a button called “ID DATA” with which you can know the wheel’s owner name, the wheel’s ID, the hardware version on board and the plugins active.

USB CONNECTION WITH THE PC
To use the steering wheel with the PC you must connect the USB cable to your PC. The steering wheel will be automatically recognized from Windows platforms.

The steering wheel is driver-free. So the driver is not needed.
To configure the steering wheel we have developed a software called “Esportsim Wheel Manager”

Sometimes an external software called SimHub makes some conflict with the steering wheel. This conflict are caused because SimHub has a feature that looking for an Arduino board attached on the PC.

ESPORTSIM WHEEL MANAGER
To use the steering wheel with the PC you must connect the USB cable to your PC. The steering wheel will be automatically recognized from Windows platforms.

With the Wheel Manger software you can:
- Test all buttons, encoders and clutches
- See the identification data:
- Wheel ID
- Wheel firmware version
- Wheel software version
- Wheel hardware version
- Esportsim Wheel Manager software version
- See the plugin installed in the wheel:
- USB communication: show you if the wheel is capable to communicate via USB
- Pro version: show you if the pro version is enabled. With the pro version the 8 encoders switch from incremental to absolute mode. With the pro version you are be able to map 128 different functions with the game.
Thrustmaster console: show you if the wheel can communicate with thrustmaster bases with console
- Manage the encoders modes. You can choose between Incremental or Absolute mode. In incremental mode an encoder can do 2 functions when it is rotated clockwise or anticlockwise. In absolute mode an encoder has 12 different functions, so in the game you can map 12 different function. One for each encoder position.

FIRMWARE UPDATE
Most of the steering wheel logic is managed by the software that you can update in the diagnostic dashboard.
Some functions is instead managed by a microcontroller chip that sometimes you have to update to use the latest functions.
To update the firmware open the “Esportsim Wheel Manager” and go the tab called “Firmware Update”.

Download the latest firmware from the Esportsim website at this LINK.
Just select the firmware file and press “WRITE FIRMWARE” button.
When the update procedure is completed, close and reopen the software to be able to continue using it.
BUTTONS AND ENCODERS MAPPING
Importante Note: on PS and Xbox if the wheel is not working in the menu, perhaps your base first requires the activation of the steering wheel via the PS/GUIDE button. This button corresponds with button 8

HOW REAR RIGHT BUTTON WORK:
The rear right button is a special button. It is used to change the SL2 mode from internal function to external function. The activated mode is shown in the dashboard with the label IN_F_E for the internal mode and with the label EX_F_E for external mode.
When the internal mode is enabled you can change some display information in the dashboard. When instead the external function is enabled you can map/use the encoder in the game.
HOW SL3 WORKS:
When SL3 is in absolute mode (you need the PRO plugin) in the telemetry dashboards it works in combination with button 7. This means that the function of button 7 depends on the position of the SL3.
To test the normal function of SL3 you can test it in the Diagnostic dashboard.
HOW TO RECEIVE THE TELEMETRY FROM F1 GAMES
To allow the wheel to receive telemetry data through the WiFi network, you must activate UDP Telemetry in the game settings and write the IP address of the wheel. You can read the IP address of the steering wheel in the Diagnostic dashboard. Set the sending frequency to 20Hz.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE TELEMETRY FROM ESPORTSIM TELEMETRY GATEWAY

The Esportsim Telemetry Gateway is used to send the telemetry data from ACC and iRacing to the steering wheel.
Select the game that you want to use and write your steering wheel IP address.

BRAKE BALANCE PRESET

The Brake Balance Preset is a function that allows you to decrease and increase the brake balance by X defined steps by pressing a single button.
In the Settings management dashboard you can set two parameters, one that represents the number of increase steps and one that represents the number of decrease steps.
These two parameters are associated with the buttons 10 and 11.
GEAR ADVANCED MODE

The Gear Advanced Mode is a function to prevent to insert the Neutral and the Reverse gear with the left gear paddle. So when it is enabled to insert the Neutral and the Reverse gear you have to press and hold button 3.
Important Note: when the function is enabled the left paddle doesn’t work if the telemetry doesn’t reach the wheel. In this case to map the paddle in game you can move to the diagnostic dashboard.
CLUTCHES BITE POINT
To set the clutches in Bite Point mode open the “Esportsim Wheel Manager” software and select the flag like in this image and click “SENT TO THE WHEEL” button.

At this point on the left clutch paddle you are be able to set an “offset” to decrease the value that correspond with the full scale value.
To change the offset set the multifunctional encoder SL1 in position 3 (sticker label 3) and use SL8 to increase or decrease the offset.
Z1 SERVER

The Z1 server compatible version is the 2022.2.1

This software is used to use the steering wheel with Assetto Corsa, rFactor and Automobilista.
Connected to sim: indicates whether or not z1 server is connected to a simulation game
Transmitting data: indicates whether the z1 server is sending telemetry data to the steering wheel
IP Address: the IP address of the computer where the z1 server is started. This IP address must be written in the settings of the steering wheel
Port number: the gateway to communication. This port must be set to 20900
In order to receive telemetry data sent by the Z1 Server, the steering wheel needs to know the IP address of the PC where the Z1 Server is running.
It is, therefore, necessary to write the IP address of the PC in the settings of the steering wheel as indicated in the following image.

SIMHUB STREAMING DASHBOARD
With the Simhub dashboard engine plugin the FSW Series 2 with hardware 4000+ is capable to show the SimHub streaming dashboard.
You have to set your PC IP address in the wheel settings dashboard as you can see in the following image. Then just go to the last dashboard you find in the wheel to see the SimHub dashboard list.

CUSTOM DASHBOARD - DASHBOARD DESIGNER
The Dashboard Designer is a web tool by which you can design your personal dashboard for the Formula Steering Wheel.
At the moment the tool is not optimized for mobile so use it on a desktop computer.
You will be able to design your dashboard and send it directly to the steering wheel by entering the code of your steering wheel.
Find the code on the label attached to the lower part of the steering wheel (S.N. XXXXX) or on the diagnostic dashboard by clicking on the “ID DATA” button you will find the code under (Wheel ID: XXXXXX).
To send the dashboard to your steering wheel you need to have an active “Dashboard Designer self sending service”.
